| There are lots and lots of photographers out there. We're in the middle of a revolution in photography that is putting high quality cameras in the hands of more and more people every day. The digital revolution is so vast and so varied its impossible to know just where it's going. There are a few things that are reasonably certain. Many people are very technically minded. Yes photography has technical aspects but they have never been the reason a great photograph is a great photograph. When you look at an Ansel Adams photograph and ALL you see is his absolute brilliance in composition, light management, and printmaking you have completely missed the point. Fortunately, most of us simply allow ourselves to be transported into a perfectly frozen moment ... miles and years from here and now. Photographs like that come from vision. Vision comes from understanding. When you chose a photographer you should take into consideration what the photographer knows and likes. I'm probably best known for my affinity for all things automotive. I'm also into airplanes, boats, music and musicians, the inspiration of nature, and people having a good time. I've had extensive experience as an event photographer, both in my own business and in the employ of others. I've done graduation and class photography for Aardvark Studios of Akron Ohio. I did portrait photography for Glamor Shots. I've been the club photographer for the Maine Coastal Cruisers and the track photographer at Oxford Dragway. I created and maintain the website frankslistmae. I've worked at three different photo lab/camera stores. Currently, I'm employed at Photo Market in Portland Maine; the largest camera store north of Boston. Daily I come into contact with top quality photographers from all over. I am fortunate to be learning all the time. My vision is constantly being informed by all the wonderful opportunities that come my way. |
